Cristo Servire Chapter of the National Honor Society

The purpose of the Cristo Servire Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) is to encourage scholarship, promote leadership, provide service opportunities within the school, and require the highest character from its members.

At Kennedy Catholic Family of Schools… we teach life.

Selection of NHS Members

Membership in the NHS is an honor bestowed upon a student by a Faculty Council based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service, assessed through a rubric. Once selected, members are expected to uphold these qualities:

  • Scholarship: Members must maintain a cumulative GPA of 93%. Falling below this GPA results in probation, with the opportunity to improve by the next grading period. Failure to do so results in removal from the chapter.

  • Character: Members must demonstrate the highest character. Academic dishonesty, such as plagiarism, cheating, or providing answers to others, results in immediate removal from the chapter.

  • Leadership: Members must exhibit leadership within the school community and adhere to school rules as outlined in the student handbook. Suspension for infractions results in removal from the chapter.

  • Service: Members must complete 20 hours of service to Kennedy Catholic High School, documented by faculty or staff. Failure to fulfill this requirement leads to a warning and potential removal from the chapter.
